It will be a single sim handset that will work only with 4G VoLTE network. The Jio phone will come with NFC support for digital payments. Jio Phone customers will also get free voice calls for the lifetime.
Jio is also offering a few plans with the Jio Phone. In Rs 54 Plan, Jio Phone customers will get free data for seven days. If Jio Phone customer pays Rs 24, then they will get free data for 2 days. There is a Rs 309 plan as well which enables the Jio Phone’s customers the facility of Jio Phone cable TV. In this plan, Jio Phone customers can connect their Jio Phone to any TV Set and enjoy up to 4 Hours of tv entertainment daily.

Jio Phone booking will begin both online and offline on August 24, 2017. You will need a copy of your Aadhar for booking a Jio Phone and only one unit will be made available to one customer. The only way to book multiple units is to make a bulk order in the name of your organization, the company’s GSTN or PAN will be required for the bulk order. The Rs 1,500 refundable security deposit will have to be paid to the retailer only at the time of picking up the Jio Phone handset, not while booking. If you book a JioPhone offline right now, the device will be delivered between September 1 and September 4.
